Hi, my name is Julian Holfeld.

I develop applications.

I'm a student learning about HTML and CSS with the help of this portfolio-project.

This project is part of the Getting Started with CSS course by Jen Kramer on FrontendMasters.

Projects I'm proud of

Latest Project

Fire Engine

Together with @Schoene1 I've developed a multi-user-based turntable ladder simulation for virtual reality. The goal of this project was to allow a firefighter squad to practice an incendiary in virtual reality. The playable scenarios are not only inexpensive in comparison to a real scenario setup, but also free from health risks.

Technologies used include:

  • Unity
  • LeapMotion
  • ForceSeatPM

Side Project

Lalafeel

A small side project I am currently working on is a free company website for Final Fantasy XIV. I've created it to broaden my horizons and to experiment with Angular and Bootstrap. It should also inform other players about the rules, intentions of my free company and should give an overview over all available services. The name Lalafeel originates from the playable gnome-like race in Final Fantasy XIV.

Technologies used include:

  • Angular
  • Bootstrap

Bachelor Thesis

Evo-World

My bachelor thesis has focused on the conception and the development of a role-playing game. It was strongly based on Digimon World and also planned to be a virtual pet RPG. The goal wasn't to create a fully implemented and functioning game, but to explore the flaws and user-experience of the original game Digimon World. For this I've conducted interviews and did a survey which was then evaluated in the programming language R. You can find more information on the bachelor thesis in the GitHub repository.

Technologies used include:

  • Godot Engine
  • GDScript
  • R
